Standard Treatment/Revised Treatment

If the efficacy of your pre-existing rosacea treatment is failing, treatment can always be revised.

Standard treatments for rosacea are oral and topical antibiotics and are covered by Medicare and insurance.

Alternative standard treatments, usually used when the above have failed or cannot be tolerated, are erythromycin, cotrimoxazole and isotretinoin.

Very rarely, some practitioners prescribe the lowest potency cortisone to help treat rosacea.

Revised and more advanced treatments are appropriate for treatment-resistant cases, where results have been sub-optimal or where the most complete control possible is desired.

In these instances we provide laser and customised topical (in-office) procedures including chemicals such as glycolic acid.

Lifestyle advice can also provide improvement in your skin's condition.

Lastly, an optimal skin care routine can greatly improve your rosacea and consolidate an enhanced outcome from all therapies combined.

When rosacea symptoms recur, treatment revision can correct your skin's course.
