SPF 20 Rosacea Sunscreen Inquiry

SPF 20 Rosacea Sunscreen Inquiry<i>

I really am interested in your Rosacea Suncreen SPF 20 but it is extremely expensive.

I read over the listed ingredients and I was wondering why?

I have tried every sunscreen on the US market and they usually all contain an ingredient or few that irritate my skin.

This looks like a fairly simple formulation.

Are there any other ingredients not listed on the site?

Do you ship to the US?

Any additional info on the product would be greatly appreciated.

With regard to the Rosacea SPF 20 Sunscreen, the cost is down to the product containing pharmacological green tea extract, a substance which assists in mitigating redness and sun damage, and also helps to reduce skin inflammation due to rosacea.

Unfortunately, like many antioxidants used in skin care, this form of pure green tea extract is relatively expensive due to the extraction processes, some proprietary, involved in its manufacture.

The ingredient also degrades quickly so it must be constantly remanufactured in small batches.

Although many skin care products now contain green tea, as far as we are aware none contain a substantial, pure and standardized dose of the ingredient's actives (catechins).

The active constituents of green tea need to be present at 20% or more to make a difference, yet mainstream skin care products only contain this ingredient for notional benefit, using whole green tea (not its isolated actives) and typically at less than 1%.

In addition the rosacea sunscreen is made in small batches to preserve the green tea's actives (which degrade over time), and to avoid the need for heavy preservation as preservatives are common skin irritants among other ingredients usually included to extent shelf life, but which also can be irritating to a greater or lesser extent.

Preservatives applied to skin are also known to heighten sun damage, which is a prime cause of rosacea symptoms.

The product is available in the United States.

Alternatively your dermatologist may be able to recommend an alternate rosacea sunscreen product with which he or she has observed consistently good results on extremely sensitive skin.

Some rosacea patients also derive a reduction in their rosacea symptoms from drinking warm or cool green tea, providing they drink between 3-6 cups a day.

We believe green tea, at the right dose, supplied fresh and stable up to the point of application to skin, to be one of the best antioxidants for rosacea.

The Rosacea Sunscreen SPF 20 provides sun protection along with antioxidant protection which confers additional non-chemical photoprotection and anti-inflammatory effects for patents with rosacea.

If you prefer a sunscreen which is entirely non-whitening, the new Oil-Free Antioxidant SPF 50 Rosacea Sunscreen also contains the same pharmacological green tea extracts.

If you suffer from persistent skin irritation from cosmetics and skin care, it would be worth considering patch testing so you can know, once and for all, which ingredients to avoid.
